Avengers II: Some Actors Aren’t Famous Enough To Play, Scar Jo Makes 20Mil

NathanFillionFirefly not famous enough to be in Avengers 2In light of the mega-success that was The Avengers, it was expected that the actors involved would hit a major payday for their participation in the second iteration.

But what about the new characters that will have to play a role?  And the actors who will play them?  We’ve got a sneak peek…

Well! We know that the second film is secured, and we know that Robert Downey Jr will be there because, well, he’s the reason many of us have kept going to the theatre for the past 15 years.  Chris Evans‘ Captain America has to be there because he is arguably the most interesting and honest character in the bunch (I mean, really? Did you see Captain America?! So good.) And now we know that Scar Jo, arguably the least interesting character that got the most screen time in the first movie, will be back for seconds, to the tune of $20million.  I’ll let that sink in.  Considering she made a pittance on the first film ($4-6million), let’s hope that Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner (who all banked $2-3 million) have agents as good as Scar Jo’s and up the ante a bit, because fffuuuuuuccccckkkkkk

So what about the new guys?

For Nathan Fillion, he of Firefly and Castle fame, and longtime film-partner of Avengers director Joss Whedon, there were rumors that he would play a role, but he squashed those claiming ‘I’m not famous enough’.

Some might argue that Scar Jo’s not talented enough, but that’s neither here nor there, I suppose. I do think his candidness makes him that much more likable, and that is a big part of watching and following celebrity – you’ve got to like them. If you root for the person, you will go out and watch their shows and their films even if you think the end product will be awful. You make excuses to excuse bad behavior, and bad work. All because you are sure that they have something real to offer the viewing public. So, Nathan, you’ve won a fan (and obvs, you have hoards of fans from Firefly are still in your corner) so I’m rooting for you, sir.
