Once again the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem MA is earning it’s keep at the top of my ‘awesome museums list’.
This time it’s for their PEM/PM night event: Street Art.
Check out the festivities at the jump!
The PEM is taking art outside with their PM Street Art event. Expect street performers doing their thang, while you get a taste of some street food from Scratch Kitchen and enjoy the cash bar.
Feeling particularly rebellious but don’t feel like dabbling in illegalities? Then get the go-ahead from the PEM and try your hand at stenciling, graffiti and a whole bunch of techniques in their designated areas.
Feeling a bit more cerebral and/or civic minded? Drop into a discussion of “Art and the City” featuring Tom Daniel, economic development manager for the City of Salem, to hear about Salem’s ventures into public sculpture, utility box art, murals and more.
There will be discussions, art, music and fun, and to top it off, a screening of the fantastic (and critically acclaimed) Banksy film Exit Through the Gift Shop.
$5 residents and members, $7 non-members
